14,348 New COVID-19 Cases In India

India reported 14,348 new Covid-19 cases and 805 deaths on Friday morning. According to data released by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, a total of 457,000 (4,57,191) people have died of Covid-19 since the beginning of the pandemic. The total number of active Covid-19 cases is 1.61 million (161,334), which is 345 higher than Thursday morning.

So far, the total number of tests conducted is approximately 6.058 million. As of 9 am on Friday, India’s Covid-19 vaccination coverage rate reached 10.482 million. 13,198 patients recovered in the past 24 hours, bringing the cumulative total of recovered patients (since the start of the pandemic) to 3.36 crore (3,36,27,632). Therefore, India’s recovery rate is 98.19%. The recovery rate is currently at its highest point since March 2020.

At the same time, the Delhi government announced the results of the sixth serological survey in the capital on Thursday. The report shows that 97% of Delhi’s population has antibodies against Covid-19. A total of 280 wards were investigated, and 100 samples were collected in each ward. Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain urged the people of Delhi to dress well and take appropriate precautions when going out or going to work.

The serosurvey showed that, regardless of the severity, people with a history of symptomatic Covid-19 infection have a significantly higher chance of seropositivity than people without such a history. “Among people with a history of Covid-19 vaccination, even a single dose of Covid-19 vaccine, nearly 95% of people are seropositive, while among minors who are not eligible for vaccination and those who have not been vaccinated , The percentage is 82%.
