In the US, 174 Indian nationals, including seven minors, have reached the court against Donald Trump Administration’s government order on H-1B Visa Ban last month.
This group of Indian citizens has filed a case against the Trump administration. Please tell that under this order of the Trump administration, his arrival in America may be banned or he will not be issued a visa. The issuance of new H-1B visas is prohibited till 31 December 2020.
US District Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson in the District of Columbia on Wednesday issued summonses to Labor Minister Eugene Scalia, along with Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Chad F. Wolfe, Executive Minister of the Department of Homeland Security. This lawsuit has been filed in the US district court on Tuesday. On Tuesday, many MPs have also urged Scalia to withdraw this work visa ban.
Lawyer Wasden Banias said in a lawsuit filed on behalf of 174 Indian citizens, “The government order banning H-1B / H-4 visas hurts America’s economy, isolates families and rejects Congress.”
The lawsuit calls for banning the issuance of H-1B or H-4 visas or declaring a government order prohibiting new H-1B visa holders from entering the country.
Also, the court has been requested to issue directions to the State Department to pass judgment on pending requests for H-1B and H-4 visas. Let me tell you that Trump issued a government order on June 22 and put a temporary ban on the issuance of H-1B work visas by the end of this year.
The order issued by Trump said, “In our immigration system, we have to assess the impact of foreign workers in the US labor market.” Especially at a time when domestic unemployment is increasing in the country and the demand for workers has come down. ‘
