Pune The Pune police registered a 500-page charge in a court in Pune that involved the gang rape of a 14-year-old girl in Vanori. In addition, a special prosecutor has been appointed for the case and is awaiting trial approval by the fast-track court for child sexual abuse cases. On October 30, the deputy inspector Sudha Choudhury, who was investigating the case, registered the charges in the court of the additional conference judge S P Ponkshe. Lawyer Pravin Chawan has been appointed as the special prosecutor for the case.
He also served as SPP in DS Kulkarni cheating and MPID cases. “Two hotel managers of the 19 arrested have been released on bail. The rest are in judicial detention. Of these, 16 were named for sexual assault. The man who went to Chandigarh with her was accused of kidnapping an underage girl. ,” PSI Choudhury said. The fee schedule has been registered in accordance with Articles 363, 376, 377, 363, 120(b) and other relevant parts of the Indian Penal Code and relevant parts of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act.
The case was registered at the Vanori Police Station of the Pune Police. Although most of the defendants were rickshaw drivers, two were railway employees, two were hotel workers, and one was a native of Bihar who worked in Chandigarh. On August 31, one of the defendants first kidnapped the girl from the Pune train station on the pretext of sending her home.
The girl met a Chandigarh man who did not show up at the train station. The rickshaw driver and at least 13 people took her to six locations within two days and beat her. The girl told the police in a supplementary statement that one of them recorded the crime and shared the video with others. After being captured without a phone call for two days and nights, the girl got her phone on September 2 and was forced to board the train to Mumbai. One of the defendants was a railway employee who arranged train tickets.
She was allegedly threatened not to return to Pune. In Mumbai, she called her friend in Chandigarh, and he offered to take her back to Chandigarh. The police notified the railway staff that they were caught before arriving in Chandigarh and returning to Pune.
