2022 Maruti Suzuki Baleno will be offered with connected car tech features

Maruti Suzuki is gearing up to unveil the high-end 2022 Baleno hatchback next week. India’s largest automaker has now teased the connected car technology features that the new Baleno will come with ahead of its February 23 launch.

The teaser video shows the Suzuki Connect app paired with the 2022 Maruti Baleno.

Equipped with an advanced telematics solution, the app promises to be smarter than previous versions and offer customers “a variety of smart features.” It will have over 40 connectivity features as well as Amazon Alexa voice commands.

The teaser video shows that the Suzuki Connect app contains several vehicle-related information, such as the fuel gauge, remaining mileage, odometer, and other important stats. The app also provides information on the overall condition of the car, turning on hazard lights remotely, and locking and unlocking the car.

In addition to connected car technology features, the new Baleno will offer other segment-first features such as a new 9-inch digital touchscreen infotainment system, 360-degree cameras and a head-up display (HUD).

For 2022, the Maruti Suzuki Baleno features a redesigned wider front grille flanked by a new set of LED headlights with three-piece DRLs. On the sides, in addition to redesigned 10-spoke alloy wheels, the new Baleno gets a chrome finish on the window lines. The rear will feature new wraparound LED taillights, and the rear bumper will also be updated to give it a more rounded appearance.

Leaked images of the new Balenos reveal other details. The 2022 Baleno’s cabin is upgraded with a new digital instrument cluster, updated steering wheel and new climate control switches. The interior has also been changed for a fresh look. However, Balenos won’t offer a sunroof option.

Maruti has already started bookings for the 2022 Baleno ahead of its launch next week. At launch, the 2022 Maruti Baleno will compete with the likes of the Tata Altroz, Hyundai i20 and Honda Jazz.
