India today reported 20,799 new COVID-19 cases, a decrease of approximately 9% from yesterday’s 22,842 cases. According to the Ministry of Health, 180 people died during the same period. Active cases in India accounted for less than 1% of the total number of infections, and it is currently 0.78%, the lowest level since March 2020.
The number of active cases was 2,64,458, the lowest level in 200 days. The national Covid recovery rate recorded 97.89%, the highest level since March 2020. There have been at least 26,718 rehabilitations in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of rehabilitations to 3,31,21,247. The daily positive rate—the number of positive cases identified per 100—was 2.10%, and less than 3% in the past 35 days. The weekly positive rate was 1.63%.
