A Special Task Force (STF) of West Bengal Police and Government Railway Police (GRP) arrested three people from a train at New Jalpaiguri railway station and seized heroin worth Rs 19 crore from them.
STF and GRP on Wednesday raided a compartment of the Dibrugarh-New Delhi Special Rajdhani train and arrested three people from Manipur and seized 3.8 kg heroin from them, a release issued by the STF said.
He said that the seized heroin is worth Rs 19 crore in the international market and a case has been registered against the accused.
Meanwhile, in another operation, the STF arrested two persons for trading in arms and seized 50 cartridges and Rs 49,000 in cash from them, the release said.
