At least 30 people killed and dozens injured after explosion at a mosque in Peshawar, reports say. Police officer says two attackers tried to enter the mosque and fired at police officers present on duty. The blast inside the mosque took place after the police officers were wounded. No group immediately claimed responsibility for the blast.
A large contingent of security teams are seen cordoning off the area where the incident took place. “I opened my eyes and there was dust and bodies everywhere,” witness Shayan Haider told Dawn.
Prime Minister Imran Khan has directed for immediate medical aid to be sent to the city so that victims can receive treatment.
