At least five people were killed and several injured after an electric bus lost control near the Tat Mill intersection in Kanpur and struck several bystanders on Sunday, local police were notified.
Three cars and many bicycles were destroyed by the bus in the accident. East Kanpur police deputy chief Pramod Kumar said the bus driver was running away and we are looking for him.
“The injured have been transferred to a nearby hospital and an investigation into the matter has been initiated,” the DCP added.
Meanwhile, Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra tweeted condolences to the families of those killed in the crash.
