The Income Tax Department has stated that the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has issued tax refunds of more than ₹ 1.01 lakh crore to more than 27.5 lakh taxpayers during April 1-September 8. Out of this, income tax refund of ₹ 30,768 crore has been issued to 25.83 lakh taxpayers and ₹ 70,540 crore has been issued to 1.71 lakh corporate taxpayers.
