Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan has finally found a home with the Rajasthan Royals of the Indian Premier League. Mr. Perfectionist’s cricketing skills have been praised by the champions of the inaugural IPL season, who have expressed their desire to include him in their playing eleven.

Rajasthan Royals added to the banter between Aamir Khan and Star Sports experts during the ongoing IPL 2022 by posting on their social media account that the actor will be in their starting lineup. ‘Aamir Khelega (Aamir will play)’ wrote the IPL franchise on a photoshopped image from Aamir’s iconic film Lagaan.

Aamir, humbled by the Rajasthan Royals’ gesture, responded with a video on his social media account, thanking the franchise. In typical witty fashion, the actor went on to say that he’ll be joining their dugout next year and even sent his best wishes to the team ahead of the Playoffs. He did, however, commit to playing for the team next season.

“Thank you, Rajasthan Royals, for believing in me and offering a spot in your playing eleven,” Aamir wrote on social media. I am deeply moved. However, your team is already very strong this year, and if I join you, you will become unbeatable. You have Jos Buttler, who is pursuing the Orange Cap, and Yuzi Chahal, who is pursuing the Purple Cap. However, I am a versatile player. If I play for you this year, both caps will be snapped and both awards will be forfeited. So, next year, I’ll join you guys in the nets and we’ll practise together. Together, we’ll Halla Bol. I also send my best wishes to you guys for the Playoffs.”

Aamir made a passing remark to Ravi Shastri in a video posted on Star Sports’ social media accounts earlier this week while showcasing his skills, saying, ‘IPL mein chance hai kya (do I have a chance to feature in the IPL)?’

When asked about Aamir’s cricket skills by anchor and commentator Jatin Sapru, Shastri replied, “Jatin, he appears to be in good shape. He probably needs to work on his footwork a little more, but he should be able to make most teams.”
