According to Mahesh Narayanan and Kamal Haasan, they both laugh at rumours that they disagree over the sequel to Thevar Magan.
It’s been almost 25 years since Thevar Magan graced the silver screen, but fans of the cult classic are still clamouring for a sequel. And while rumours have been swirling that Mahesh Narayanan and Kamal Haasan are at odds over the possibility of a sequel, the duo have taken to social media to set the record straight.
In a joint statement posted on Twitter, Narayanan and Haasan dispel any rumours of disagreement, saying that they’re both on the same page when it comes to Thevar Magan 2.
“We laugh at the rumours that we disagree over the sequel to Thevar Magan. We are in complete agreement that Thevar Magan 2 will happen when the time is right,” the statement reads.
Thevar Magan was released in 1992 and went on to win several awards, including the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Tamil. The film starred Haasan, Sridevi and Revathi, and told the story of a village headman’s son who returns home after studying abroad and clashes with his father over the village’s customs.
