Veteran actor Arvind Trivedi played the role of Ravan in Ramanand Sagar’s iconic TV series Ramayan in 1987. He died at the age of 82. Trivedi suffers from age-related diseases. He had a heart attack on Tuesday night. The actors of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Ramayam paid tribute to the late actor. Kaushaubh Trivedi, Trivedi’s nephew, confirmed the actor’s death to indianexpress.com.
“Uncle Arvind is in poor health and his health has deteriorated in recent years. He died at around 9.30pm on Tuesday evening after a heart attack. He was 82 years old. He was in Kandi Valley (Mumbai). I walked peacefully at home, surrounded by family members.” In the early hours of Wednesday morning, the veteran actor was cremated at the Dahanu Kawadi Crematorium in Kandiwali district.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi wrote: “We have lost Shri Arvind Trivedi, who is not only an outstanding actor, but also a passion for public service. For generations of Indians , He will be remembered for his work in the La Maya TV series. Condolences to the families and admirers of the two actors. Om Shanti.”
Actor Sunil Lahri, who played the role of Lakshman in “Ramadan”, paid tribute to the late actor on his social media platform. “Bahut dukhad Samachar hai ki Hamare Sabke Pyare Arvind bhai (Ramayan’s Lavin) Ab Hamare bich Nahin Rahe Bhagwan Unki Atma ko Shanti De… I am speechless, I have lost the image of my father, my guide, blesser and gentleman.”
