Adipurush: Prabhas Starrer’s Film Postpones Release Date Following Strong Backlash? What We Know Is This
Rumor has it that the release of the movie Adipurush, starring Prabhas, Kriti Sanon, and Saif Ali Khan, has been postponed. The rumours started to circulate a few weeks after the historical drama based on the Ramayan faced harsh criticism for its ‘poor’ VFX and was accused of being inaccurate. The movie was scheduled to debut on January 12.
Adipurush may be delayed as a result of the significant conflict between Chiranjeevi’s Waltair Veeraya and NBK’s Veera Simha Reddy, according to a report by Track Tollywood published on Sunday. Adipurush will compete with Tamil blockbusters Thunivu, starring Ajith, and Varisu, starring Viijay, all of which are scheduled to hit theatres the same weekend. It is said that the filmmakers don’t want to compete with these movies.
Although the producers have not yet provided any formal confirmation, industry insider and producer Girish Johar revealed that Adipurush is currently expected to premiere in April 2023. “Wrong #TradeBuzz or inside rumour that #Adipurush withdraws from its plans to be a Sankranti release,” the tweet read. The release is now scheduled for mid-summer 2023, he tweeted.
The Ramayan is told by Adipurush from a unique perspective. Kriti portrays Sita while Prabhas takes on the role of Ram. Saif has been cast in the part of Raavan, and Sunny Singh is playing Lakshman. Adipurush is regarded as Prabhas’ most successful film to date. It is a mythical play that cost Rs 300 crore to produce. The movie is co-financed by Retrophiles and Bhushan Kumar’s T-series.
This month’s teaser was released, and it immediately drew harsh criticism. Social media users criticised the teaser’s lacklustre VFX, and several asked for the film’s suspension due to what they claimed was misrepresentation.

Kangana Ranaut has denied speculations about joining politics solely due to the box office failure of her films.
Kangana Ranaut, the BJP’s Lok Sabha candidate from Mandi for the 2024 elections, expressed gratitude towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi for her political entrance. In an interview with Times Now, she questioned whether she joined politics due to her movies’ poor box office performance, comparing it to Shah Rukh Khan’s previous unsuccessful films.

Kangana responded to a question about her career, stating that she has never had a flop. She compared Shah Rukh Khan’s films to Pathaan, Queen, and Manikarnika, noting that if she had a flop in Emergency, it would be a big hit. Kangana compared her career to Shah Rukh Khan, who had consecutive flops for ten years. She also mentioned that she had not had a single hit for 7-8 years before Queen, but after that, she had a few good movies.
No stars from OTT?
The last generation of stars, known for their talent and demand, are now able to showcase their talents more through OTT. However, the author expresses a desire to involve themselves more with the real world, rather than being consumed by the arts, stating that they are not satisfied with the current status quo.
