A kabbadi player, Dharminder Singh, was shot dead after a clash in front of Punjabi University in Patiala. Incident comes after another international kabaddi player Sandeep Singh Nangal Ambian was killed in Jalandhar.
The victim, Dharminder Singh, was representing his village at a meeting with the rival groups when he was shot dead.
The victim’s body has been sent for post-mortem. “It’s a murder over enmity,” said Patiala SSP Nanak Singh on the murder case.
Punjab police to set up anti-gangster task force headed by an ADGP-rank officer. Chief minister emphasises the need to eradicate organised crime on priority. He assured officers of requisite manpower, latest equipment and information technology for the police force.
