AIIMS Delhi to perform only urgent surgeries from Apr 10 as COVID-19 cases rise

Amid the increase in cases of Covid-19 in Delhi, the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) on Thursday decided that from April 10, only the most urgent surgery will be done.

In a letter sent to the heads of all centers and departments, AIIMS Superintendent Dr. D.K. Sharma said that a meeting was held in the Ramalingaswamy board room on Thursday under the chairmanship of the director of AIIMS.

Sharma said that it was decided in the meeting that the services of Operation Theater will be reduced to prevent the spread of Covid-19.

In view of the increasing corona cases in Delhi, all the school colleges have been closed. However, where only the particles are running, the schools will remain open.

Apart from this, 200 people will be allowed to attend public events and weddings in open space and 100 people in closed space. Night curfew will remain in force in the state till April 30.

Night curfew will remain in force from 10 am to 5 am. There has been a steady increase in new cases of corona in Delhi for the last three weeks.
