The Samajwadi Party has written to the Election Commission asking for webcasting of voting in some parts of Uttar Pradesh. Akhilesh Yadav had accused the BJP of trying to “steal the votes” by manipulting EVMs (electronic voting machines). The BJP had strongly objected to the allegations.

The chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, Akhilesh Yadav, has alleged that electronic voting machines (EVMs) were being transported in a vehicle to a foodgrains warehouse for use in elections. The election commission said the EVMs were for training purpose and were sent to a college instead. Counting of votes for 403 constituencies in the state will be done on Thursday. Some exit polls have predicted a win for the BJP but exit polls often get it wrong.
