Amit Shah meets family of martyred J&K policeman, gives govt job to wife

Union home minister Amit Shah visited the family of Jammu and Kashmir Police Inspector Parvez Ahmed on Saturday, who was shot and killed by terrorists in June this year. The Shah was accompanied by J-K’s Deputy Governor Manoj Sinha, Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh, J-K Police Dilbag Singh, and other officials.

“Visit the home of the martyred Parvez Ahmad and pay tribute to him. I and the whole country are proud of his bravery. I met his family,” said Shah, who was visiting for three days, J-K tweeted. The Union home minister added that Ahmed’s wife has obtained a government job. On June 22, Inspector Parvez Ahmad was shot and killed by four terrorists on his way to a mosque in the Menganwaji Nowgam area of ​​Srinagar. CCTV footage showed that terrorists “fired indiscriminately” on Ahmed. The police officer died of his injuries in a nearby hospital.

On October 1, the police stated that they had arrested a terrorist involved in the murder. Kashmir IG Vijay Kumar told the news agency that Muheeb Bashir Dar was arrested by the police and he confessed his crime. Kumar said that Bashir Dar was the neighbor of Inspector Ahmed and he was also involved in several other terrorist-related incidents. Kumar added that the other two terrorists in the murder, Saqiq Manzoor and Rameez, were recently killed in their encounters in Srinagar and Sopree. Kashmir IG further told the news agency on October 1 that the fourth terrorist, Basit Kamran, was still at large.
