Andhra minister Goutham Reddy, 51, passes away after heart attack; CM Jagan expresses shock

Andhra Pradesh government information, technology and industry minister Mekapati Goutham Reddy died on Monday due to a heart attack.
The 50-year-old minister was reportedly in Dubai to invest in the state and returned to Hyderabad on Sunday. He was rushed to the Apollo Hospital in Jubilee Hills after collapsing at home.

Prime Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy expressed deep shock and sadness, having known the young and promising leader from an early age. He was speechless about the death of the young cabinet colleague.

The Prime Minister expressed his deep condolences to the families of the deceased.

In a statement, the hospital said: “The minister arrived at our emergency room at 7.45am unresponsive, not breathing and in cardiac arrest on arrival. He underwent immediate CPR and extended cardiac life in our emergency room. Support. Emergency medicine team and specialists, including cardiologists and intensive care physicians, took care of him.”
“CPR took over 90 minutes. Despite best efforts, he was unable to come back to life. He was pronounced dead at 9:16 this morning. We are doing everything we can to support his family during this difficult time.”

Taking to Twitter, Telangana minister KT Rama Rao said, “Deeply saddened and shocked beyond belief to learn about the sudden demise of dear friend @MekapatiGoutham Garu. My heartfelt condolences to the family & friends in this hour of grief. Gone too soon brother. Pray that you rest in peace.”
