According to Bloomberg News, Apple has postponed its plans to resume work indefinitely, and the company said it has temporarily closed three stores in the United States and Canada after the increase in COVID-19 cases and the increase in the number of store employees.

The report quoted a memo sent by CEO Tim Cook stating that the company’s employees were originally scheduled to return to the office on February 1.

Growing concerns about the rapidly spreading variant of the Omicron coronavirus have disrupted plans for several companies to return to normal. According to reports, Google told its employees that if they do not comply with the company’s vaccination rules, they will lose their wages and eventually be fired, and JP Morgan Chase has asked its unvaccinated employees in Manhattan to work from home.

The day before Apple closed its stores in Miami, Annapolis and Ottawa, the company resumed its policy of requiring all customers in its US stores to wear masks.

The company said that all employees of the three stores will be tested before the store reopens. During the pandemic, with the implementation and lifting of lockdown measures related to the coronavirus, Apple has closed some stores globally for a short period of time.

COVID-19 cases are rising again in parts of Canada and the United States, and the Canadian government begged its residents not to leave the country on Wednesday.
