Arjun Kapoor has been in the film industry for ten years, but he refuses to take “anything for granted.” He admits that he is living a life he never imagined for himself.

“I know how difficult filmmaking is behind the camera because I’ve been an actor, an assistant director on set, and the son of a producer.” The most important lesson I’ve learned over the years is that being in front of the camera is just as difficult as being behind it. “You can’t take anything for granted,” Kapoor says, adding, “I’m living a life I’d never imagined.” Right. So I’m eternally grateful and happy to be a part of this profession and simply doing good work.”

In the last ten years, that has been his driving force. Kapoor debuted in Bollywood with Ishaqzaade (2012) and has since experimented with various genres and characters, as evidenced by projects such as 2 States, Gunday, Ki & Ka, and Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar. With projects like Ek Villain Returns, Kuttey, and The Ladykiller in the works, he’s entering a new phase of his career.

The actor continues by saying that the pandemic provided him with an opportunity to reflect on his life and career. “Now that I’ve had time to process what happened to my career and what happened to me personally during the pandemic, So, perhaps I’m entering a more positive phase of my life. And that’s happened because I’ve had to sit at home and figure out where I was going wrong and reconnect,” he says.

Kapoor also discovered that he is “resilient” because he is able to “survive the highs and lows.” I’m affected, but not enough to become engrossed and bogged down.” “I never knew I was such a secure human being,” the 36-year-old says, “to be able to do all kinds of films and roles that I did.”

“When I first started in this business, all I wanted to do was act and make a name for myself,” he continues. That has always been the case. I had no idea when I did Ki & Ka that the subject would pique people’s interest… I didn’t know I had the courage to crossdress in the climax of Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar, for example. Looking back, I realise I’m a very strong person to be capable of such a feat. I doubt many mainstream actors or so-called commercial heroes would consider doing something like that.”
