There’s no stopping Kartik Aaryan, whose latest film Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 has been in theatres for a month and is still showing. At the domestic box office, the film has grossed over 179 crore rupees. Kartik took to Instagram on Sunday to celebrate the film’s success. It featured a video of Kartik standing on the roof of a car, surrounded by admirers who were screaming and chanting.
“5th Week Going Really Strong (fire emoji) #BhoolBhulaiyaa2,” the actor wrote with the video. “I live for this love (emoji with a heart and clasped hands).” Fans snapped him from all sides as he posed on top of a car in a black sweatshirt and denims, making various hand signals.
“Keep rocking king,” one fan said in response to the video. “My Rooh Baba,” remarked another. “All love is yours,” remarked another. “You are a superstar,” read one comment.
Kartik is riding high after the success of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, in which he also appears with Tabu, Kiara Advani, and Rajpal Yadav. The film is a standalone sequel to Akshay Kumar and Vidya Balan’s 2007 psychological horror comedy of the same name, produced by Bhushan Kumar and Murad Khetani.
According to Taran Adarsh, a film trade analyst, the picture will not have any “notable resistance” at the box office during its initial run. “#BhoolBhulaiyaa2 grows again on [fifth] Sat…,” he tweeted on Sunday, sharing the film’s fifth Saturday stats. An open race with little competition has proven to be beneficial… On weekdays, 185 should be crossed… [Week Five] Sat 2.02 cr, Fri 1.15 cr. #India biz total: 179.31 crores.”
The actor will next be seen in Shehzada, an action comedy starring Kriti Sanon, who previously worked with him in Luka Chuppi. It’s a Hindi remake of Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo, a Telugu blockbuster.
