Chris Dickman, an ecology professor at the University of Sydney, Australia, estimates that at least 100 million animals have died since September due to a fire in Australia’s forests. This includes mammalian fauna, birds and reptiles. This fire has burned 25 million acres of land, which is equal to the size of South Korea.
