Samajwadi Party chairman Akhilesh Yadav said the BJP’s sun will start to set with voting in western Uttar Pradesh in the first phase of the election.
“The BJP sun will be gone forever when the polls are in the third phase of Karhal,” he said.
SP residents are competing in Karhal, Mainpuri district, and are being challenged by Union Minister S.P. Singh Baghel.
“I hope to defeat the BJP in the state historically from here,” Akhilesh told a conference in Karhal on Sunday night.
He called on the public to become his candidate and get votes for him as he will be busy running for party candidates across the state.
“The Karhal assembly constituency and the Mainpuri Lok Sabha will set an example of development if the SP is voted for power,” Akhilesh assured PEOPLE.
He said a modern technical college would be built in Karhal to provide employment opportunities for youth and link them to the country. In addition, 2.2 million jobs will be created in the IT sector alone, he said.
“Netaji’s (Mulayam Singh Yadav) relationship with the Karhal population comes from his wrestling days and I hope to get the same affection and love from here,” he said. –IANS
