Sourav Ganguly, Chairman of the Cricket Control Council of India (BCCI), tested positive for the novel coronavirus in Kolkata and has been confirmed. According to “India Today”, the former Indian captain has been sent to the Woodlands Hospital in Kolkata with mild symptoms.
The doctor did not want to take risks with the legendary cricketer, so he decided to hospitalize him on Monday night. His blood sample will undergo genome sequencing to determine if he is infected with the Omicron variant.
On December 24th, Sourav Ganguly attended the premiere of Tonic, the latest film of the Bengal superstar and TMC MP Dev, and appeared alongside celebrities such as Nusrat, Yash, Babul Supriyo, TMC MLA Madan Mitra.
“He was taken to the Woodlands Nursing Home last night. He has received medication and is currently in a stable condition,” PTI quoted a BCCI source as saying.
This is Ganguly’s third hospitalization this year after being hospitalized twice due to chest discomfort in January this year. Ganguly suffered a heart attack while exercising at his home in Kolkata and underwent right coronary angioplasty.
The second round of angioplasty was performed on January 28. During this process, two stents were placed in the two arteries.
Ganguly returned to work in March and fully vaccinated herself against Covid-19. Earlier this year, his brother Snehasish Ganguly also tested positive for Covid-19.
