Bangalore Airport City Co., Ltd. (BACL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Bangalore International Airport Co., Ltd. (BIAL), has appointed DP Architects Singapore and Portland Design UK as architectural consultants for the integrated retail-dining-entertainment (RDE) village project.
Developed as part of the airport city. This state-of-the-art project will be strategically located adjacent to the concert hall and convention center. The project will be developed on 23 acres of land with a construction area of more than 1.1 million square feet. It will serve as a mid-to-high-end shopping and lifestyle destination to meet the growing needs of Bangalore’s market segment. It is expected that the BMTC bus service and the upcoming subway line will promote connectivity with the RDE village.
BACL stated in its press release: “With the help of technology, RDE Village will become a shopping mall designed to lead the trend by attracting customers in various retail, catering and entertainment formats. Regular retail will be accompanied by frequent pop-up incubators.
The dining experience will cover a variety of local cuisines led by international chefs, and the sensory experience of shopping centers of different age groups will encourage longer stays and ensure repeat visits. Kempegowda International Airport has witnessed amazing growth in the past few years , Becoming one of the fastest growing airports in the world.
