Actress Bhagyashree and her businessman husband Himalay Dassani will star in the next episode of Star Plus’ new show Smart Jodi. In this episode, Bhagyashree and Himalay relive their wedding day and recreate the moments from it. The couple eloped in 1990 due to parental opposition to marriage, which she also spoke about on the show.
Discussing how the couple tied the knot despite family opposition, she said: “Just liye shaadi mein koi nahi tha, sivaaye inke. Jab Maine Mummy Papa se kaha ki main shaadi karna chahti hu inse, woh nahi maane. Maa baap ke baccho ke liye sapne hote hain lekin baccho ke apne sapne bhi hote hain aur kabhi kabhi, unke sapne unhe jeene dena chaiye. Kyuki aakhir mein, unki zindagi hai, unhe jini hai. (No one at my wedding, only him. When I told my parents I was going to marry him, they disagreed. Parents have dreams for their kids, but kids have their own dreams. Sometimes you shouldn’t “they make their dreams come true. At the end of the day, it’s the life they have to live” .” Bhagyashree even choked up talking about it.
She still said she didn’t “run away to get married”. “Jo log and media kehte haina ki maine bhaag ke shaadi ki, usse bahut bahut gussa aata hai mujhe kyuki maine bhaag ke shadi nahi ki (that’s how I feel when people and media say I ran away to get married, so angry. Because I didn’t do that)” she said.
Also on the show, Bhagyashree and Himalay put varmalas around each other’s necks while the other couples involved cheered them on. She kept holding her husband’s hand.
Bhagyashree and Himalay have two children, son Abhimanyu and daughter Avantika, who are both actors. In 2020, Bhagyashree had revealed that she and Himalaya had been separated for more than a year after their 32-year marriage. Her: “Yes, Himalaya was my first love and yes, I married him. Lekin ek arsa tha beech mein jab hum juda ho gaye the (but we separated for a while). I was like, ‘If I What if I married someone else without letting him into my life? “That got me to this stage because we haven’t been together for a year and a half.
