The Bihar government has ordered an investigation after records showed a civilian surgeon in Patna had administered five shots of the Covid-19 vaccine.

However, civil surgeon Dr Vibha Kumari Singh said she had delivered three jabs as required.

Singh also claimed that others managed to use her PAN card details to get vaccinated and called for an investigation.

According to the CoWIN portal, she received her first dose of the vaccine on January 28, 2021, and was fully vaccinated last March.

Singh was also stabbed using her PAN card information on February 6, 2021, and a fourth time on June 17 of the same year, government records show. She then took the prophylactic dose on January 13, 2022.

Patna district magistrate Chandrashekar Singh said on Monday that the government had opened an investigation. “Stern action will be taken against those found guilty,” he said.
