A marriage in Paliganj in Patna in Bihar has put the administration and health department in the problem. Two days after the wedding, the groom died of coronavirus.
Now more than 100 people who attended the bride’s wedding and funeral were found to be coronavirus positive. On Wednesday, officials said that when the 26-year-old groom got married on June 15, he had symptoms of coronavirus (Symptoms of Coronavirus). He died two days later.
According to online media reports, Patna’s Chief Medical Officer Raj Kishore Chaudhary told that around 400 people attended the wedding and funeral. 111 of them have been found to be coronavirus positive. The rest are identifying and isolating them.
However, doctors are not ready to say with certainty that the groom was the source of the infection spreading to other people, because he was cremated before being tested.
The groom was a software engineer, who had returned from Delhi to Patna a week before his wedding. Symptoms of coronavirus were seen in her before marriage. She was admitted to the hospital after showing symptoms, but the family later discharged her and arranged the wedding.
About 300 guests came to the wedding. While the Union Home Ministry has allowed only 50 guests to attend the wedding. The groom died two days after the wedding. 200 people who attended the wedding also attended the funeral.
Officials say that neither the groom’s relatives nor the groom have been found to be coronavirus positive. Authorities have started an investigation into possible violations of social distancing rules on the number of guests at both the wedding and funeral.
