Just days before his death, Bob Saget was cracking jokes about variants of COVID-19 and sharing his own experience with a Covid diagnosis on a podcast. The Orange County Sheriff’s Office announced on Twitter that the beloved Full House star was found dead in his hotel room at the Ritz-Carlton in Orlando, Florida, the night after his stand-up show outside of Jacksonville the night before.

“It’s been hugely popular and done really well,” the “Full House” icon joked about the Omicron variant in a Jan. 5 interview with the podcast “Company Times with Tom and Dan,” according to Page Six. “It’s not good, it doesn’t feel good,” he continued. “I don’t know if I have a Delta or…I might have a combination. Maybe at some point, they [Delta and Omicron] are working together.” Mutations are compared to comedians.

“At one point, Omicron was opening up for Delta, but Omicron has grown so big that Delta is now open as well.” According to Page Six, Bob also discussed his experience standing up for audiences during the pandemic . “If it was half full, I’d say, ‘Oh, this is so disappointing,’ and then all of a sudden 200 people showed up because they decided at the last minute, ‘What the hell, when are we going to see Bob? He might be Died of Covid-19, let’s go see him,” he joked at the time.
