Three 15th-century statues stolen from a temple in Tamil Nadu were handed over to the Indian High Commission in London on Tuesday by British police. This information was given in a statement issued by the Ministry of Culture.
Union Minister for Culture and Tourism Prahlad Patel attended the ceremony of handing over the three statues at the High Commission in London via digital medium.
The statement said that the British police handed over the idols of Lord Rama, Lakshmana and Mata Sita to the Indian High Commission. On this occasion, Patel thanked the British Police, Government of Tamil Nadu, Archaeological Survey of India and High Commission of India, London.

The statues of Lord Rama, Lakshmana, and Mata Sita made of brass are a unique piece of Indian metal art.
