Bahujan Samaj Party leader and former Uttar Pradesh Prime Minister Mayawati opposed Samajwadi Party’s promotion of “Gunda Raj” and “Mafia Raj” during his tenure in Uttar Pradesh. She also accused the SP, led by Akhilesh Yadav, of inciting unrest in the state.

The BSP top leader further added that the Muslim community is not satisfied with the work done by the SP for minorities and they will not vote for Akhilesh.

“The people of Uttar Pradesh rejected the SP before the vote because voting for the SP meant Gunda Raj, Mafia Raj. There was a riot in the SP government. The faces of the SP leaders said they would not come to power,” she was quoted as saying by the ANI news agency.

Meanwhile, Akhilesh Yadav said he was confident that the SP would form a government in the UP and that the fourth phase of the election would bring the SP coalition into a “dual century”.

The state’s Phase 4 investigation is underway today. BSP leader Mayawati has voted at the polling station at Lucknow Municipal Kindergarten.

The fourth phase of the investigation will decide the fate of 624 candidates in 59 assembly areas in Pilibhit, Lakhimpur Kheri, Sitapur, Hardoi, Unnao, Lucknow, Rae Bareli, Banda and Fatehpur districts. Voting for the remaining three phases of Uttar Pradesh will take place on February 27, March 3 and March 7.
