Budget Session live | Rajya Sabha proceedings begin

The budget meeting began on January 29 with President Ram Nath Kovind addressing a joint meeting of both houses of parliament.

Dinesh Trivedi, a member of the All India Trinamool Congress Rajya Sabha, announced his resignation in the House of Representatives (Rajya Sabha) on Friday, citing his inability to deal with the violence in West Bengal, ANI reported.
“I resigned from Rajya Sabha today. Violence has occurred in my state. We cannot say anything here,” Mr Trivedi said.

Saturday’s meeting in the Rajya Sabha has been cancelled, an official order from the Rajya Sabha secretariat said.

“Members were informed that, as announced today (11.02.2021) in the House of Representatives, the Rajya Sabha meeting scheduled for Saturday, February 13, 2021 has been cancelled. Therefore, there will be no House meeting on that day,” according to the news agency The order was dated February 11, ANI reported.

The budget meeting began on January 29 with President Ram Nath Kovind addressing a joint session of both houses of parliament.

The first part of the conference was originally scheduled to run through February 15, but was rescheduled to end on February 13.

The second session will be held from March 8 to April 8.

Members of parliament have been asked to undergo RT-PCR tests for COVID-19 before budget meetings begin.

The BJP has issued three whips to its MPs to appear in the Lok Sabha tomorrow, saying some important legislative matters will be discussed. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will respond to the budget debate tomorrow.
