The Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) on Thursday filed a petition in the Supreme Court against the Citizenship Amendment Bill 2019. Significantly, under this law, there is a provision for granting citizenship to people of Hindu, Christian, Sikh, Parsi, Jain and Buddhist religions who have fled from Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh due to religious persecution.
