Confident of BJP’s victory in civic body elections, says Karnataka CM

Karnataka Chief Minister Basavavaraj Bommai on Friday expressed confidence that the BJP will win the upcoming civic body elections in Bengaluru.

“BJP’s victory in the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike election is as real as the rising sun in the east. There is no doubt that the people of Bengaluru will support BJP,” Bommai said in a special programme organised by the National BJP Office to congratulate him on his work in the office Six months later, it happened to be his birthday.

He called on party staff to convey to the people of Bengaluru what the BJP government has done over the past two and a half years. Bommai explained that his government provided Rs 6,000 crore for the development of Bangalore, Rs 15,000 crore to renovate the main storm drain and Rs 23,000 crore for the development of 12 corridors. He said the development of 75 slums and 75 parks under the Amrith scheme had already begun.

“Our government is determined to complete the full development of Bangalore and make it an international city,” he said.

Referring to the various pro-people measures taken by his government, Bomai told the rally, doubling compensation for crop losses during floods, increasing pensions for Sandhya Suraksha Yojana, pensions for the disabled and widows, making 5.8 million people benefit.

He noted that the families of those who lost their lives due to COVID have received an ex-gratia payment of Rs 1.5 lakh.

According to him, his government is “Sarva Vyapi-Sarva Sparshi” (all-in-one, all-encompassing).
