In order to discuss the strategy for the upcoming parliamentary elections in the five states, Congress Interim President Sonia Gandhi convened a meeting of the leaders of the core political parties at 10:30 this morning.
The meeting will be held at the National Congress Party headquarters. Parliamentary elections will be held in Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Manipur and Goa next year. The Congress Secretary-General and Country Heads’ meeting will be held at the AICC Headquarters at 24 Akbar Road to discuss membership, training, agitation plans, and strategies for upcoming parliamentary voting.
The chairman of the State Assembly Committee will also attend the meeting. In addition, they will also protest against the center over the increase in the price of necessities, especially gasoline and diesel. Congress has formed a group to formulate state incitement and protest plans. According to an agency report, during the meeting, leaders will discuss the membership movement, Jan Jagran Abhiyan’s preparations, and the proposed continuous training plan.
The Congressional Work Committee (CWC) meeting was held on October 16, and the meeting decided to organize a public opinion survey next year. To this end, a membership campaign will be launched from November 1st. The election of the Congress Party may be held on September 6, 2022, and the party is likely to assume the presidency before October.
At the same time, KC Venugopal, the general secretary (organization) of the All India Congress Committee (AICC), in a letter to the heads of all state assemblies, asked them to transform the membership drive of organizing polls into a “mass campaign process.”
