Covid 3rd wave: Another 2-3 weeks? 10 things SBI report on pandemic reveals
The SBI (State Bank of India) study on the third wave of the Covid-19 pandemic said the ongoing wave could be extended for another three weeks. The report, released on Tuesday, said the optimism came from a sharp drop in the number of new cases in the 15 regions with the most infections. - Mumbai peaked on January 7 when 20,971 cases were reported, the report said.
- Pune and Bangalore are still seeing daily new additions. If other regions also take strict measures to control the spread, the national peak could come 2-3 weeks after the Mumbai peak. 3. New cases in the top 15 regions, including 10 major cities, fell from 67.9 in December 2021 to 37.4 in January 2022.
