Daily Covid cases declining in UP, means our strategy is successful: Yogi Adityanath

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday said despite being the most populous state of the country, it has fought corona effectively. In the last couple of days, states that were earlier reporting maximum coronavirus cases including Maharashtra, Delhi, Gujarat and UP, have started witnessing a decline in the daily new case load.

Speaking on Uttar Pradesh Covid situation, Yogi Adityanath said, “I inspected integrated COVID control center in Bareily. Since last week 2,800 active cases have reduced in this zone.” “It was predicted that UP will see one lakh positive cases per day from May 5 but as on May 8 we reported 26,000 cases. It means our COVID strategy and management is successful.

From April 30 we’re seeing decline in cases and we also started special screening, testing in villages.” On Saturday, as many as 298 people died from coronavirus in Uttar Pradesh on Saturday as 26,847 fresh cases surfaced, pushing the state’s infection count to 14,80,315, according to a statement. So far, the infection has claimed 15,170 lives in the state.
