All-rounder Mitchell Marsh is the latest player to test positive for a banned substance. There are no more positive cases in the squad for the final round of tests on April 20. DC will have the rest of their squad to choose from when they face Punjab Kings on Wednesday.
DC have been inconsistent of late, losing by six wickets to Lucknow Super Giants before thrashing KKR by 44 runs and then losing by 16 runs to Royal Challengers Bangalore. Marsh’s positive test may force them to use the same lineup as the one that lost to RCB.
Prithvi Shaw: The young opener has two half-centuries to his name this season and looks in good form.
David Warner: He may have only scored four runs in his second appearance for DC, but he followed that up with 61 and 66 runs. In the two consecutive half-centuries, Warner appeared ominous, and DC will hope he continues in this vein.
Sarfaraz Khan: DC has clearly kept Sarfaraz as a floater, and if they get off to a good start, he may not bat again.
Captain Rishabh Pant (wk): The captain has tried to keep the ship together in the middle order, which has been a problem for DC. Pant has a strike rate of just over 145 and has 144 runs in five innings.
Rovman Powell: Had it not been for the Australian being ruled out, Powell might have lost his spot to Marsh. In five innings, the West Indian big hitter has only given up one double digit run.
Lalit Yadav: In the previous match, Lalit was only out for one run. Yadav, on the other hand, has played some good cricket for the team in the past.
