Flyers on Air India flights will receive special information in flight announcements as Tata Group resumes the airline’s operations on Friday.
Under the official order, the airline’s pilots will make specific announcements after the doors are closed for each flight departing during the day.
“Dear guests, this is your Captain (name) speaking…welcome aboard this historic flight that marks a special event,” this is what all Air India passengers will hear Yes, an airline determined by the operating department.
On Thursday, the Indian government officially handed over Air India to Tata Group, which it had taken from the group for about 69 years.
“Today, Air India is officially part of the Tata Group again after seven years. We look forward to serving you with renewed commitment and enthusiasm on this and every Air India flight,” the announcement will state in accordance with the order.
“Welcome to the future of Air India! We hope you enjoy your journey. Thank you,” the announcement will further state.
After a bidding process, the government on October 8 last year sold Air India to Talace Private Limited, a subsidiary of Tata Group Holdings, for Rs 18,000 crore.
Tata Group said in a statement on Thursday that it has taken over management and control of the airline starting today. “The Tata Group takes over management and control of the airline from today,” the statement said.
The handover ceremony was attended by N Chandrasekaran, Chairman of Tata Sons, and other senior officials of the company.
Speaking to reporters after the handover ceremony, Chandrasekharan said, “We are delighted that Air India and Tata Group are back together. We look forward to building a world-class airline with you all.”
