According to the Indian Meteorological Department, Delhi has had the ‘longest and most cold spell’ since 1997, with the weather being extremely cold for about 10 days. In 1997, it was very cold for 13 consecutive days. The minimum temperature recorded in Delhi on Tuesday was 5.7 degrees, the second coldest night of the season.
