Delhi Municipal Corporations 2022 are at hand and all the parties participating in elections have started their preparations to gain maximum votes. Every party is coming up with different agendas and strategies to win this election.
BJP has decided to add councilors in all the three DMCs for different posts like the mayor, deputy mayor, chairman, leader of the house, etc. from different social and religious groups to add diversity. The nominations for different posts of DMC elections 2021 are:
For the mayor’s post, the party has chosen Raja Iqbal Singh a Sikh for North DMC, Mukesh Suryan from Jat community for south DMC and Shyam Sunder Aggarwal from baniya community for east DMC. For deputy mayor, post-Archana Dilip Singh from North DMC, Pawan Sharma FOR South DMC, and Kiran Vidh from east DMC are nominated. Jogiram Jain, BK Oberoi, Veer Singh Pawar are nominated as standing committee chairman for North, South, and East DMC respectively. For the post of Leader of the house Chhail Bihari Goswami for North DMC, Inderjeet Sehrawatfrom South DMC, and Satyapal Singh for east DMC.
For the 2022 elections, congress seems to be quite confident as the party has managed to raise its vote share by 6% in the last assembly elections. Ruling party AAP also won 4 seats in the by-polls municipal corporation elections. Earlier AAP had 4 wards of MCD while BJP had 1 and congress had 0. According to polls results, only congress seems to be gaining more votes than last year. It would be interesting to see the Municipal Corporation Results.
