Many such stories are seen in films that an employee working in a small post in a department became an officer in the same department.

Feroze Alam has shown this in real life too. For 10 years he continued to work at the lowest rank in the Delhi Police and has now become an officer.

Feroz Alam, ACP of Delhi Police, was working as Constable in Delhi Police. With his hard work during his 10-year job, he passed the UPSC examination last year. Talking to NBT, Feroze said that his training has started from April 1 at the Police Training College located in Jhadoda area of Delhi. It will end in March next year. Then he will be sent for field training and after that he will get the final posting as ACP.

However, with his election to the Danips cadre, his appointment to the ACP rank has also been confirmed. Feroze said that like all the contestants who gave UPSC, their first choice was IAS and IPS. Priority was given to the IRS and then Danips Services. Based on their ranking, they got the Danips cadre.

He says that for me it is like a dream come true. I had been working in Delhi Police for 10–11 years and that is why I included Danips Services as my priority. Feroze says that the work culture of Delhi Police has been seen very closely, so I will not feel anything different by working here. As far as those who work with me are concerned, our friendship will remain as usual. Yes, we will definitely take special care of discipline while on duty.
