Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath (Yogi Adityanath) on Monday dispelled all concerns about the potential third wave of coronavirus disease (Covid-19) driven by the highly spread variant of Omicron, and expressed the disease caused by the new strain is different from the “viral fever”. Adityanath said that in light of growing concerns about virus variants, although necessary precautions must be taken to reduce the spread of the disease, there is no need to panic.
“Indeed, Omicron is highly contagious,” the chief minister of UP admitted when speaking to reporters about the third wave of pandemic concerns. “However, compared with the second wave, the variant of Omicron is weaker and comparable to simple viral fever, which is also true.”
“When dealing with any disease, safety precautions are necessary,” he added. “In this case, safeguards are also necessary. But there is no need to panic.” Speaking of the delta variant of the coronavirus, which was circulating in India from March to April 2021, it is generally believed that it caused the deadly second wave of pandemics, people at the time said it would take more than two weeks to recover, and other complications may occur in the process.
However, he said that this is not the case with Omicron.
“We saw in the delta phase that it takes about 15-25 days for people to recover,” Yogi Adityanath said. “In addition, post-Covid complications have also been reported in patients. But this has not been seen in the case of the Omicron variant. Now the virus is much weaker.”
It is worth noting that according to the data updated by the Federal Ministry of Health on Monday, so far, a total of 1,700 cases of the Omicron coronavirus variant have been found in 23 states and federal territories, of which 639 cases have recovered or moved.
Maharashtra has the highest number of cases with 510 cases, followed by Delhi (351 cases), Kerala (156 cases), Gujarat (136 cases), Tamil Nadu (121 cases) , Rajasthan (120 cases).
According to the data updated at 8 am, the total number of Covid-19 in India has risen to 3,49,22,882, with 33,750 new cases and 1,45,582 active cases.
To date, the country has reported a total of 4,81,893 deaths, including 1,41,542 in Maharashtra, 48,113 in Kerala, 38,346 in Karnataka, and 36,790 in Tamil Nadu. 25,109 people.
