The Pargar regional government in Maharashtra conducted an experiment in which it used drones to deliver COVID-19 vaccine doses in remote villages in rugged terrain, its senior official said.
Dr. Manik Gursal, a regional collector who participated in the trial, said that the trial was successfully conducted on Thursday and may be the first of its kind in the state.

“As part of the exercise, a batch of 300 vaccines were delivered from Jawhar to Zaap Village. The task that originally took more than 40 minutes was completed in just over 9 minutes. The vaccines were delivered to the local public health center,” the regional government Said in a press release issued on Friday.

An official said that the distance between the two points is about 20 kilometers. “This is of great help to the vaccination work, because now it is easy to deliver the vaccine to the door of the villagers who have difficulty in reaching the vaccination center. … To some extent, this will also help eliminate people’s vaccination Misunderstanding,” he said.
