During Sarfarosh, Sonali Bendre regrets not learning from Aamir Khan: Wasn’t mature enough to seize the moment.

Sonali Bendre recently voiced her regret for not taking advantage of the opportunity to learn from her co-star Aamir Khan while they were filming Sarfarosh in 1999. Sonali Bendre, who rose to prominence in Bollywood in the 1990s with films such as Major Saab, Zakhm, Sarfarosh, Hamara Dil Aap Ke Paas Hai, and others. With her upcoming series The Broken News, the attractive actress is set to make her acting comeback after a long hiatus. In the midst of this, she recently expressed regret for not learning from Aamir.

Sonali recently sat together with Film Companion for a chat. This is when she spoke about her time in Sarfarosh working with Aamir. She admitted that she enjoyed watching him but that she did not take advantage of the opportunity to learn from him. “Aamir has always been a stickler for detail. In fact, I believe I had a great time doing Sarfarosh with him since I could see what he was doing. But I lacked the maturity to appreciate and learn from it. Of course you learn—every time you work with someone, you learn from them—but not in the way you might think. And I believe I squandered that opportunity. Looking back, I was not mature enough to take advantage of the opportunity.

Aamir Khan, Naseeruddin Shah, Sonali Bendre, and Mukesh Rishi feature in the action drama Sarfarosh, which was written, produced, and directed by John Matthew Matthan.

Sonali was recently seen in the online series The Broken News, in which she portrays a journalist named Amina Qureshi of Awaaz Bharati. Shriya Pilgaonkar and Jaideep Ahlawat share screen time with her.
