A video has now surfaced that captures the chaos that ensued due to the turbulence. The 42-second clip shows a lot of people trying to make sense of what was happening inside the plane.
Several cups, bottles, and packages can be seen strewn about the plane’s floor. The flight attendants are seen attempting to reassure the passengers.
When the Boeing B737 plane was descending on Sunday, at least 14 passengers were injured. The plane, on the other hand, made a safe landing.
Those who were hurt were taken to the hospital later.
“On May 1, a SpiceJet Boeing B737 aircraft operating flight SG-945 from Mumbai to Durgapur encountered severe turbulence during descent, resulting in injuries to a few passengers,” a SpiceJet spokesperson said.
The aircraft arrived in Durgapur with immediate medical assistance, according to the spokesperson. “SpiceJet regrets this unfortunate incident and is providing all available medical assistance to the injured,” said the spokesperson.
