The structure for Nadigar Sangam, or the South India Artists’ Association, is now complete thanks to the kind donations of actors Vijay and Kamal Haasan. In 2017, Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan laid the foundation stone for the association’s new structure, which is based in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.

Thanking Vijay for his contribution, Vishal shared a picture on X, writing, “@actorvijay Thank you means just two words, but it means a lot to a person when he does it from his heart. Well, I am talking about my favourite actor, our very own.

In his letter, “Yes, we always knew the building would be incomplete without your support and involvement,” he added that the donation has inspired them to finish the work as soon as feasible. You’ve now given us the motivation to get it done as quickly as possible, brother.

In a generous show of support for the construction of the Nadigar Sangam (Actors’ Union) building, two of Tamil cinema’s biggest stars, Vijay and Kamal Haasan, have each donated ₹1 crore. The donation, totaling ₹2 crore, marks a significant contribution towards the development of the Nadigar Sangam’s new headquarters, which will serve as a hub for the welfare of actors, technicians, and other professionals in the Tamil film industry.

The Nadigar Sangam has long been a cornerstone of the Tamil film industry, supporting the welfare and rights of its members. With the new building, the Sangam aims to create a modern facility that will not only accommodate actors and other industry professionals but also offer better working conditions, office spaces, and other amenities. The contribution from Vijay and Kamal Haasan is seen as a testament to their commitment to the betterment of the Tamil film community.

Vijay, often regarded as one of the leading actors in Tamil cinema, is known for his philanthropy and support for various social causes. His donation reflects his ongoing efforts to contribute to the welfare of the film industry and its people. Kamal Haasan, another iconic figure in Tamil cinema, has been a champion for various causes, and his donation further solidifies his position as a visionary leader within the industry.

Both actors have also expressed their admiration for the work done by the Nadigar Sangam and its leadership in improving the lives of film industry workers. Their contributions come at a time when the Tamil film industry is facing challenges related to the COVID-19 pandemic and its impact on the livelihoods of actors and technicians.

The donation ceremony, which took place in the presence of industry leaders, was met with applause and appreciation from all quarters. The gesture has garnered widespread media coverage, with fans and industry professionals alike praising Vijay and Kamal Haasan for their generosity and leadership in supporting the Tamil film community.

This contribution also highlights the growing trend of celebrities in the Indian film industry coming forward to support causes that benefit the welfare of their peers. The donation from Vijay and Kamal Haasan is likely to me all the best inspire others in the industry to contribute towards the construction of the Nadigar Sangam building, further solidifying the sense of unity and camaraderie that exists within Tamil cinema.

The Nadigar Sangam has been instrumental in organizing various charitable initiatives and providing financial assistance to actors in need. With the new building, the Sangam plans to expand its efforts, offering more resources and support to the film community.
