Ex-Congress, Samajwadi Party MLAs Join BJP Ahead Of UP Assembly Polls

Ahead of the upcoming parliamentary elections in Uttar Pradesh, Congress MLA from Behat (Saharanpur) Naresh Saini, Sirsaganj (Firozabad) MLA Hari Om Yadav and former Samajwadi party MLA Dr Dharmpal Singh joined the Bhartiya Janata party on Wednesday.

Elections in Uttar Pradesh’s 403 parliamentary constituencies will be held in seven phases starting on February 10, the Election Commission said.

Voting in Uttar Pradesh will be held in seven phases on February 10, 14, 20, 23, 27 and March 3-7. Counting will take place on March 10.

In the 2017 parliamentary elections, the BJP won a landslide victory, winning 312 parliamentary seats. The party won 39.67% of the vote in the 403-member parliamentary election. The Samajwadi party won 47 seats, the BSP 19, while the Congress could only win seven.
