The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has ordered that from June 1, sweets shops will be mandated to write manufacturing and expiry dates on open sweets. These have to be written on a container or tray used to hold sweets. The FSSAI said in the order that it has received complaints of sale of stale and expired sweets.
