An Afghan official said an explosion occurred near the entrance of the passport office in the Afghan capital Kabul on Thursday.
An official of the Ministry of the Interior, who asked not to be named, told Reuters that the nature of the explosion was unclear and there were no casualties.
After restarting the passport service after a few weeks of suspension, a large number of Afghans have poured into the passport office in recent days to obtain travel documents.
